How to prepare for a ride with us

We are looking forward to welcoming you on your horse trek soon!

The stable is about a 15-minute drive from Essaouira. A taxi usually costs around 30 MAD

If you would like to arrange a transfer or you want to discuss a different starting time, please contact Hassan directly and agree on the pick-up time and price with him.

If you are arriving by car or taxi, we recommend parking at Café Jimmy Hendrix.

On the last day, the ride usually finishes between 4:00 and 5:00 PM.

What to bring

• Passport (valid for six months beyond the date of entry)

• possibly a power bank for your mobile phone, as we won’t have access to electricity in the camp 

• Head torch

• Sunglasses / sun cream

• Layered riding clothing (including short- and long-sleeved tops, jumper, light jacket (possibly a windbreaker), rain jacket, warm jacket, hat, scarf for the evening)

• Riding breeches

•  good trainers/lightweight walking boots and mini chaps/riding socks, or whatever else you feel comfortable wearing whilst riding

• Riding helmet- there are helmets available, your own fits you probably better

 → if you want to borrow a helmet from us, please let us know minimum 1 week prior and tell us your size

• Lanyard to hang your mobile phone from (if you like taking photos)

• Waist or leg pouch (if you want to keep small items close at hand)

• Water bottle

• Personal medication (if necessary)

• Earplugs

• Wet wipes for nights at camp (there are no showers there) 

• Sleeping bag. There are blankets at camp, but it’s better and warmer if you bring your own sleeping bag.

We provide a small saddle bag for your personal belongings such as your phone, camera, water bottle, etc. Water is included. Any larger luggage will be transported separately during the trek.

Photos

There is no professional photo shoot, but you are welcome to ask our guides before the ride to take pictures with their phone or yours. After the ride, they will send you the photos free of charge.
