Join us on a 5-day horseback riding trek in Morocco, designed for experienced riders. Choose between two route options, each with its own landscapes and stops along the way.

This trek offers a ride along the Atlantic coastline. Gallop on sandy beaches, feel the sea breeze, and take in the ocean stretching out before you. Explore coastal towns and take time to swim along the way.

5-day Atlantic ride

Day 1

Upon your arrival at either Marrakech or Agadir airport, our team will pick you up and drive you to Tamri, where you'll stay in a guesthouse for the first night. Your guide and the horses are already there, waiting for you. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a home-cooked dinner and rest up for the horse riding trek ahead.

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast, it's time to saddle up and embark on the first day of riding along the stunning Atlantic coastline. As you arrive at the camp in Imsouane, a refreshing cup of mint tea and a sweet treat will be waiting for you. Relax in your comfortable camp site, just steps away from the sea. Enjoy a delicious dinner while witnessing the sunset over the horizon.

Day 3

Start the day in the saddle, taking in the views of the Atlantic Ocean. Ride along the rugged coastline, surrounded by open landscape. Upon reaching the camp, those who want to can take a swim in the Atlantic. In the evening, enjoy the warmth of a campfire.

Day 4

In the morning, we'll prepare our horses for a day of horse riding through remote areas and an argan forest. A picnic will fuel us for the rest of the ride to Sidi Ahmed Essayeh, where we'll stay with a local family and watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. As the day comes to an end, enjoy the quiet of the countryside and the colors of the sunset over the ocean.

Day 5

Day five takes us along the Atlantic coast to Sidi Kaouki. We ride along beaches and cliffs on our way to Sidi M'Barek, where a small waterfall and sand dunes await, with plenty of room for gallops. We pause for a picnic near the sea. In the afternoon, we continue our ride towards Sidi Kaouki, our final camp on this horse riding trek near Essaouira.

Day 6

Rise and shine! Get ready for the last day of horse riding. Riding along the coast and through the dunes, with views of the sea, we take in the scenery one last time. As we gallop along the beach, there's a sense of freedom. We return to the stable in Diabat for a cup of fresh mint tea before settling into your hotel in Essaouira.

When you ride with us, you'll always have your own private group — whether you come with family or friends. There won't be any other guests joining, so you can relax and enjoy your horse riding experience at your own pace.

Horses & Riding

Our horses are well cared for Arab-Barb stallions, known for their agility, endurance, and responsiveness. They are in good condition, for a smooth ride. Each horse is equipped with a well-fitted saddle, so you'll be riding comfortably. Our horses are well-trained and ready for horse riding along the Atlantic coast.

Rider requirements

This horse riding trip is best suited for riders who are able to walk, trot, and canter. We typically ride for about 4 hours per day, so it's recommended that riders have a good level of riding fitness. If you are an inexperienced rider, please get in touch with us so we can assess your abilities and determine if this ride is suitable for you.

Weight limit

Our horses are Arab-Berber crossbreeds, standing between 145–160cm (57–63in). They are well-muscled, sure-footed, and built for the terrain — but they are not large horses.

We have a weight limit of 85kg / 187lbs for all rides. This is a firm limit, not a guideline. It exists because we take horse welfare seriously, and we'd rather be upfront than have anyone travel all the way to Morocco only to be turned away at the stable.

If you're close to the limit or have questions, just ask — we're happy to talk it through before you book.

Accomodation

On some parts of the route you will stay in a guesthouse, and on others you will sleep in a traditional camp. Certain locations are set up with tents, while others offer simple guesthouse rooms.

Please note, that the Camp must be booked at least one month before the start of the ride to allow sufficient time to obtain the required camping permit from the authorities.

During the nights in the traditional camp, you will sleep in a tent equipped with a mattress, a blanket, and a pillow.

A single rooms / single tents are available on request for an additional fee.

Our chef will prepare a delicious dinner for you to enjoy under the stars, accompanied by the soothing sound of the Atlantic waves.

Food and beverages

Not only will the ride be a memorable experience, but our food will also leave a lasting impression. Our chef will prepare fresh and traditional dinners and breakfasts for you to enjoy. For lunch, we will pack a healthy picnic that you can savor in a beautiful location along the road. Additionally, we will provide tea, nuts, and pastries for your enjoyment during tea time.

We understand that dietary requirements are important, so please let us know in advance if you have any specific needs or if you are vegetarian.
