available year round

During this unforgettable adventure, you will spend two nights in the charming village of Sidi Kaouki where we are based for this ride. The riding days lead us along the stunning wide beaches of Moroccos coast, offering opportunities for fast gallops, good vibes and the sounds of the ocean accompanying you. We ride to Sidi Kaouki, a beautiful little surf town down the coast from Essaouira and explore the hidden gem of Sidi M'Barek, known for its small waterfall and vast sand dunes. Immerse yourself in nature's beauty as you ride through this enchanting landscape. Last but not least we take our time to ride back all the way to Diabat, taking in the breathtaking views on the ocean and dunes that look like straight out of a movie one last time.

Route 2: Magical Backcountry & Stunning Beaches

available September - May

On this route, we’ll meet in Diabat then venture deep into the backcountry of Morocco, crossing beautiful, century old Argan forests, wide landscapes and perhaps meet one or the other local shepherd with his herd of goats on the way. We experience traditional villages and the authentic local life of rural Morocco on this route, taking it all in from the back of our amazing horses. On this route we’ll spend the first night in a comfortable private house in the inland, before heading towards Sidi Kaouki and the Ocean on the second day. We’ll experience the very best this stunning region has to offer on this ride, in a well balanced mix of countryside riding and long beach stretches. From Sidi Kaouki we spend another long day riding back towards Essaouira along the beach and through breathtakingly beautiful sand dunes.

Accommodation
You can choose your preference: Sleep in comfy Berber Tent camps or go for guesthouse accommodations. Either you’ll spend the first night in a comfy private house and the second in a guesthouse in Sidi Kaouki if you choose the guesthouse accommodation, or, if you go for the more adventurous camping option, you’ll spend both nights in our cozy berber tents, offering sweeping views on the Atlantic Ocean the second night and a truly memorable experience. Every night, you indulge in delicious homemade meals prepared by our talented chef. Taste the flavors of Morocco as you savor each bite of fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Day 1

Day one starts with a relaxed ride towards the inland of Morocco: You get to know your horse slowly but surely while riding through century old argan forests, rural villages and pass one or the other local shepherd with his goats on the way. The landscapes surrounding you are wide and dry, yet surprisingly colorful and diverse. Despite not riding on the beach today, there are amazing opportunities for some trots and gallops if you wish! After an exciting first day in the saddle, you arrive at a comfortable private house or berber tent camp that’s your accommodation for the first night. Settle in gently, while our private chef cooks an authentic local dish making for a delicious dinner with the group.

Day 2

Day two begins with a hearty breakfast before saddling up for another day of riding. Today, we'll head towards Sidi Kaouiki, a pretty little surfer town offering breathtaking sea views and stunning sunsets over the atlantic ocean. On this route you once again cross the diverse landscapes of the inland before slowly noticing the change in scenery as you get closer to the ocean. Once in Sidi Kaouki, take a stroll on the beach before unwinding at your guesthouse or oceanside berber tent camp for this night and savoring a delicious dinner while enjoying the incredible sunset.

Day 3

Day 3 starts with a delicious breakfast before we embark on our final ride. Today, we'll take a different route back to the stable, riding along the beach and through the dunes. Get ready for some exhilarating canter stretches along the sandy shores, feeling the wind in your hair and the thrill of the ride. Once we arrive back at the stable, we'll have some tea and bid farewell to our trusty horses.

Why Ride with us?

When you ride with us, you’ll always have your own private group — whether you come with family or friends. There won’t be any other guests joining, so you can fully relax and enjoy the ride at your own pace.

For the retreats listed on our website, we form mixed groups with individual participants — but all riders have the same level of experience to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Horses & Riding

Our horses are well cared for Arab-Barb stallions, known for their agility, endurance, and responsiveness. They are in excellent condition, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride for you. Each horse is equipped with a comfortable and well-fitted saddle, so you'll be riding in total comfort. Rest assured, our horses are well-trained and ready to give you a safe and unforgettable experience as we gallop along the stunning Atlantic coast.

Rider requirements

This ride is best suitable for riders who are able to walk, trot, and canter. We typically ride for about 4 hours per day, so it's recommended that riders have a good level of riding fitness. If you are an inexperienced rider, please get in touch with us so we can assess your abilities and determine if this ride is suitable for you.

Accommodation

You have the option to choose between two night in a traditional camp (in Sidi Kaouki it’s located right next to the ocean!) or staying in cozy guesthouses.

If you choose the traditional camp, you will spend the nights in a spacious Berber tent with plenty of room, equipped with mattresses, covers, and pillows. Our chef will prepare a delicious dinner for you to enjoy under the stars while listening to the soothing sound of the Atlantic waves. A single tent is available on request for an additional fee.

Alternatively, if you prefer more comfort and privacy, you can opt for the cozy guesthouse in Sidi Kaouki. The guesthouse provides private bathrooms for your convenience. A single room is available on request for an additional fee. On the inland route, when you choose guesthouse accommodation instead of the berber camp, the night is spent in a private house, then the second night in the same guesthouse in Sidi Kaouki just as on the beach route.

The choice is yours, and we will ensure that whichever option you choose, you have a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Berber Camp

Our cozy Berber Tents are what we also use on most our long rides of 4-5 days: These tents were designed exactly to our needs and produced with traditional canvas material by locals in Marrakech. You’ll share a big berber tent with your group, private tents are available for small additional fee. The camp also has a kitchen tent where our private chef cooks delicious local dishes every night and a toilet tent for your comfort.

Food and beverages

Not only will the ride be a memorable experience, but our food will also leave a lasting impression. Our chef will prepare fresh and traditional dinners and breakfasts for you to enjoy. For lunch, we will pack a healthy picnic that you can savor in a beautiful location along the road. Additionally, we will provide tea, nuts, and pastries for your enjoyment during tea time.

We understand that dietary requirements are important, so please let us know in advance if you have any specific needs or if you are vegetarian.

Weight limit

Our horses are Arab-Berber crossbreeds, standing between 145–160cm (57–63in). They are well-muscled, sure-footed, and built for the terrain — but they are not large horses.

We have a weight limit of 85kg / 187lbs for all rides. This is a firm limit, not a guideline. It exists because we take horse welfare seriously, and we'd rather be upfront than have anyone travel all the way to Morocco only to be turned away at the stable.

If you're close to the limit or have questions, just ask — we're happy to talk it through before you book.
